Admin Settings → Images connects the generation engines behind the Media Studio and sets the defaults every user inherits.
Connections
| Action | Notes |
|---|---|
| Add Connection | Register an image-generation backend — a local generator (for example a ComfyUI-style engine on your cluster) or an external provider endpoint with its credential. |
| Connection name + URL + auth | Each connection is named, addressed, and credentialed; authentication requirements are validated when saving. |
| Edit / Delete | Connections are editable and removable from their cards. |
| Verify | A saved connection lists the models it exposes. "No image connections configured" means users cannot generate yet. |
Image Settings (defaults)
| Option | Effect |
|---|---|
| Default Model | Which model new generations use when the user doesn't choose. |
| Allowed Models | Restrict users to a subset of the models your connection exposes. |
| Set Image Size | Default output size (for example 1024x1024). |
| Set Steps | Default quality/steps (for example 50) — more steps = better detail, slower. |
| Built-in Models | Models provided by the platform itself where licensed. |
Access and governance
- Enable/disable for groups in Permissions.
- External image providers send prompts outside your environment; use local engines in restricted deployments.
- Generation load shows in GPU Monitoring and cost in Usage.
Troubleshooting
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "Only administrators can manage image settings." | Expected for non-admins. |
| "Invalid JSON format for ComfyUI workflow." | Advanced workflow configuration syntax is wrong. |
| "Timed out while loading image models." | The engine is slow to respond or unreachable. |
