Quick Start

From login to your first useful result in ten minutes — a first chat, attaching a document, using a template, and finding help.

This quick start takes you from login to your first useful results in about ten minutes. If you are an administrator setting up the platform for the first time, follow the Initial Setup checklist instead.

1. Sign in and look around

  1. Open your IntraLLM URL and sign in.
  2. You land in Chat. On the left you'll see the Chat module sidebar: New Chat, Search, Settings, and your recent conversations grouped as Today, Previous 7 days and Previous 30 days.
  3. The far-left rail switches between the platform's modules — Chat, Workflow, Document, Image, Fine-tuning, Templates, Models and Dashboard.

2. Send your first chat message

1

Choose a model (optional)

Open the model selector above the message box. Your administrator decides which models are available; the current selection applies to the conversation.

2

Ask a question

Type a question or task and send it. The model streams its answer back. Try something concrete, like "Draft a two-paragraph project update for stakeholders" — concrete asks produce better results.

3

Use the answer controls

Hover over a response to reveal its actions: copy, regenerate, branch/edit, like/dislike, and read-aloud where available.

3. Attach a document

Drag a file into the message box (or use the attach control) and ask a question about it:

"Summarise the risks in this contract and list the three highest-impact clauses."

Supported attachments include common office documents, PDFs, text, images, audio and video files. Files are processed for the conversation, so answers are grounded in your content. See Chat Basics.

4. Try a template

Templates are ready-made assistants configured for specific jobs (email triage, report drafting, document parsing, and more).

  1. Open Templates in the module rail.
  2. Select a template card and choose Start Chat.
  3. The chat opens with the template's instructions, knowledge and capabilities pre-loaded.

See Using Templates.

5. Find things again

  • Search in the Chat sidebar finds conversations by title and content.
  • Open a conversation's menu to rename, clone, archive, share or delete it.
  • Settings → Chats lets you export or archive everything. See Managing Conversations.

6. Make it yours
