Managing Conversations

Organise your chats — search, rename, clone, share, archive, export and delete conversations in IntraLLM.

Chat history is one of your working assets. IntraLLM gives you full control over your conversations: find them, reshape them, and clean them up.

How conversations are organised

The Chat module sidebar lists your recent conversations grouped into:

  • Today
  • Previous 7 days
  • Previous 30 days
  • Other (older or undated items)

Each group heading collapses/expands. Which groups appear is controlled in My Settings → Interface via the Show Today / Show Previous 7 days / Show Previous 30 days in Chat Sidebar History toggles.

Conversation actions

Select a conversation's menu (⋯) in the sidebar to use any of the following:

ActionWhat it does
RenameGive the conversation a memorable title. Titles are auto-generated initially; renaming overrides that. The new title appears immediately in your history.
CloneCreate a copy of the conversation to explore a different direction, keeping the original untouched.
ShareGenerate a shareable link so colleagues can view the conversation. Sharing respects workspace permissions — a shared chat is viewable, not editable, and access follows your organisation's policies.
ArchiveRemove the chat from your active list without deleting it. Restore anytime from Settings → Chats → Archived Chats.
DeleteRemove the conversation permanently. This cannot be undone.

Search across chats

Select Search in the Chat sidebar to search titles and message content across your conversations — faster than scrolling, especially with months of history.

Note:

Search covers conversations that are visible to you (active and within your history window). Archived conversations are found via the Archived Chats list, not sidebar search.

Bulk tools: export, import, archive, delete

In My Settings → Chats you'll find Data Transfer and Danger Zone sections:

  • Export Chats — download all your conversations as a portable JSON file. Do this before leaving a role, or as a personal backup.
  • Import Chats — restore a previously exported JSON file into your workspace.
  • Archive All Chats — clear your sidebar in one action; everything stays recoverable in the archive.
  • Delete All Chats — permanently remove every conversation.

Careful with the Danger Zone:

Deletion — of one chat or all chats — is irreversible. Export first if there is any chance you will need the history.

Good habits for teams

  1. Name important conversations — "Q3 vendor comparison" beats an auto-generated title when searching later.
  2. Archive at project close — keeps your sidebar focused on live work.
  3. Export quarterly — a small JSON export keeps a personal record of AI-assisted decisions.
  4. Share, don't paste — share a chat link so colleagues see the full context rather than a fragment.
