Video generation (module rail → Image → Video) creates short videos from a written description or from a starting image. Use it for product teasers, concept animations, social clips, and training snippets — without leaving your environment.
Create a video
Describe the video
In the prompt box ("Describe the video you want to create…"), set the scene, subject, motion and mood: "A slow dolly shot through a clean server room, blinking indicator lights, cinematic blue lighting, subtle camera drift." Describe motion explicitly — camera movement, subject movement, pace.
Attach a starting image (optional)
Attach a picture (from your files or a previous generation) for the model to animate — image-to-video. The attachment can be removed before generating.
Choose model and settings
Select the video model when several are available, and open settings for parameters such as length, size/aspect ratio, and quality. See Media Parameters.
Create
Select Create video. Video jobs run asynchronously and take longer than images; you can continue working and return to the result.
Review and download
When the job finishes, play the result in the viewer and download it. If it isn't right, adjust the prompt (more specific motion, different mood) or try a different starting frame.
Prompting tips for video
| Element | Why it matters | Example wording |
|---|---|---|
| Subject | What the camera follows | "A robotic arm assembling a circuit board" |
| Motion | The model needs explicit movement | "slow pan left; sparks faintly glowing" |
| Camera | Sets framing and feel | "close-up, shallow depth of field, steady cam" |
| Style/lighting | Consistent look | "photorealistic, dusk lighting, warm highlights" |
| Duration/pace | Keeps the clip coherent | "5 seconds, calm pace" |
- Keep to one main action per clip; complex multi-action scripts work better as several generated clips.
- If faces/hands look distorted, change the shot ("medium shot", "from behind") — generators handle wide angles more reliably.
- Expect variation between runs; regenerate before concluding the prompt is wrong.
Practical guidance
- Start short — brief clips render faster and reveal prompt issues cheaply.
- Chain with images — generate the perfect still first in Image Generation, then animate it for reliable composition.
- Check policy — your administrator may restrict video generation by group or disable it entirely. See Videos (Admin).
Where else video appears
- In chat — with the Video Generation capability enabled, ask the assistant for a clip as part of a conversation.
- History — every generated video is stored; see Explore & History.
